Preservation Talk on Wilm’s USO

The USO, or United Service Organization, is a non-profit organization created under Franklin D. Roosevelt, in 1941, to support our military and their families. The Hannah Block Historic USO was originally one of 14 in New Hanover County and at the time its services included a canteen, a dormitory, big band dances, plays, music recitals a weekly radio broadcast and more. Come on out to the Hannah Block Historic USO- Community Arts Center TONIGHT, May 16, 2016, 6:00pm to hear a Preservation Talk on the history of Wilmington’s USO by Board Chairman Ev Smith. $5 suggested donation, reception to follow.
