The Historic Wilmington Foundation is thrilled to present our annual Preservation Crawl! On this cocktail crawl, attendees will drink in the charm—literally!—of the historic Castle Street corridor and Cotton Exchange complex.
CASTLE STREET COCKTAILS: Thursday, July 13 (5-8pm)
COTTON EXCHANGE COCKTAILS: Thursday, July 27 (5-8pm)
Stationed in businesses housed inside of historic structures, our talented slate of bartenders will be serving up the Port City’s finest libations! Your ticket is the key to a slew of signature cocktails, crafted by the best bars in Wilmington (5 per event). We like to throw in a splash of fun and feisty competition, so attendees may vote on their favorite bar, with a winner being called at the night’s afterparty!
Choose one night or attend both—and drink up knowing that your ticket ($50 each) supports HWF’s mission: to preserve and protect the irreplaceable historic resources of the Lower Cape Fear region.
Our sponsors allow us to carry out a vital mission that began in 1966 and is still going strong. We are grateful to each and every one!
To sponsor the Preservation Crawl, contact Isabelle Shepherd, Outreach & Development Coordinator: shepherd@historicwilmington.org. Sponsors will be finalized on Friday, June 30.

FAQs
I purchased my ticket(s) online. Where do I get my printed ticket(s)?
You will receive your printed ticket when you begin your tour at our start location:
- CASTLE STREET COCKTAILS: Your ticket will be ready for pick-up at the first stop on the crawl, Fire Station No. 2 (602 S. 5th Avenue)!
- COTTON EXCHANGE COCKTAILS: Your ticket will be ready for pick-up at HWF’s ticket booth, located at the Nutt Street entrance to the Cotton Exchange, accessed through the Cotton Exchange parking lot.
Simply keep your confirmation email handy; you may print out a copy, or pull the email up on your mobile device. When you present the registration email to one of our staffers at the start location, you’ll receive a paper ticket that grants you admission at all of our participating venues!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You must be at least 21 years of age to attend this event. Don’t forget to bring your driver’s license/photo ID to confirm your age!
I'm confused about the location of the Preservation Crawl. Where is each crawl located, and how long is the route?
- CASTLE STREET COCKTAILS: This crawl will guide you to five shops along Castle Street, with all sipping stations located along a two-block route!
- COTTON EXCHANGE COCKTAILS: This crawl will encourage you to explore the Cotton Exchange (321 N. Front Street) and its various shops. (Many will be offering special discounts!) All sampling stations may be found within the Cotton Exchange complex, which encompasses one city block.
Where can I park?
CASTLE STREET COCKTAILS: There is no designated parking area for the event. The Castle Street corridor provides a variety of on-street parking options.
COTTON EXCHANGE COCKTAILS: Attendees may park in the Cotton Exchange parking lot for free, with a parking validation sticker. Please bring your parking ticket with you to the check-in table (located at the Nutt Street entrance to the Cotton Exchange, accessed through the parking lot), and a staff member will give you further instructions.
If driving to the Preservation Crawl, please plan for your safe route home! If you need help calling an Uber, Lyft, or cab, an HWF staff member or volunteer will be happy to assist you with scheduling a pick-up on your mobile device.
